I own a water righted parcel, is there anything I should do?
- If you have never come into the TCID office and researched your water rights, it is suggested that you do so. You can call the TCID office at 775-423-2141 extension 1228 or 1244, Tuesday through Friday, and make an appointment with our mapping department to help you with the research.
- They will provide you with a printout that shows how much water is appurtenant to your parcel and other important information.
- They will provide you with a map of your parcel showing the location of your water rights and, if you are irrigating the parcel, whether they match the area you are irrigating. The maps also provide information on the size of the fields which directly relates to the amount of water you are allocated to be delivered each year.
- They will also verify that the Nevada Division of Water Resources records are consistent with TCID records. Information from the Division of Water Resources can be viewed at https://water.nv.gov/water-rights.
TCID does not guarantee water rights. A water right surveyor can be hired to verify water rights.
